The River - Caroline Ann Bowles
River, river, little rivert
Bright you sparkle on your way
Or the yellow petitles dancing.
Through the flowers and follage glancing,
Like a child at play.
River, riverl Swelling rivert
On you rush through rough and smooth Louder, faster brawling, leaping. Over rocks, by rose-banks, sweeping Like impetuous youth
River, river! Brimming river!
Broad and deep, and still as time Seeming still, yet still in motion, Tonding onward to the ocean,
Just like mortal prime
River, vert Headlong river
Down you dash into the sa, Sea that line hath never sounded Ses that sell hath never rounded,
Like eternity.
